Diamondback

Diamondback cocktail recipe

Remedy for: Promotes Well-being

Diamondback

1.5 measures Rye Whiskey

1/2 measure Green Chartreuse

3/4 measure Apple Brandy

Place ice cubes in a glass to chill it.  Stir all ingredients with ice in cocktail mixer.  Remove ice from cocktail glass, and strain liquid into chilled cocktail glass.

A dose of Green Chartreuse, and the 132 botanicals used to make it, will give you the lift you’ve been craving all day; although the Diamondback is a medicinal cocktail with healing powers, it’s named after a snake for a reason . . . it’s lethal.  Or maybe it’s because this cocktail will cure a snake bite.  I’m not sure because I’m not a doctor, so it’s your call.  If a diamondback snake bites you and sipping on this cocktail doesn’t remedy the situation, then I sincerely apologize.

The original cocktail recipe calls for 3/4 measure Green Chartreuse, but we found that to be on the sweeter side.  This is a gentleman’s drink, so sip slowly and enjoy the layers of flavor.

There is some confusion surrounding the Apple Brandy and whether to use high-proof apple brandy or an apple liqueur (lower in alcohol and sweetened with sugar), so let me clarify: use legitimate apple brandy (the strong stuff) for this cocktail.  We recommend Clear Creek Distillery’s Apple Brandy.

Drink to good health!
